Corrosion resistance of 301 stainless steel plate
301 has good to excellent corrosion resistance and is similar to grade 304, used in many food service applications.
Cold forming of 301 stainless steel plate
301 is ductile and easy to form, but due to its high work hardening rate, rigorous forming or multiple operations may require intermediate annealing. Its hardness and strength make it very suitable for structural applications. Usually stamped or drawn.
High temperature resistance of 301 stainless steel plate
Grade 301 shows good oxidation resistance and is suitable for intermittent work up to 840°C and continuous work up to 900°C.
Heat treatment of 301 stainless steel plate
301 cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
Pressure reduction of 301 stainless steel plate
Heat to 400-900°F (260-482°C), then air cool.
