To introduce you to the subject, we will explain that steel round bars are one of the many forms that this iron alloy can take according to the needs of industry. As it is considered a versatile material, it is easy to find it all around us, from a kitchen utensil to the bridge you cross, this is due to the versatility of the material.
We can call steel as one of the best descendants of iron, its functionality and benefits make it a useful alloy for industries, there is a wide diversity of types; however, these are classified into four groups: alloy, carbon steel, stainless steel and tool steels. This difference is produced according to the mechanical and physical process to which this material is subjected.
Applications of steel bars according to their shape
Carbon steel is produced by alloying iron and carbon, the more the load of the second metal, the greater the hardness, elasticity, resistance and solidity of the material. The more carbon, the less ductile it is. In the steel industry between 80 and 90% of the production is carbon steel, the main applications are in civil and mechanical construction, such as steel mills.
Steel bars are a format acquired by the industries, in Tisco we have four presentations:
– Stainless steel Round steel bar
In Tisco we have stainless steel round bars drawn in different grades in cold and hot; with diameters available from ¼ to 16″. Four presentations in low carbon steel, unalloyed medium carbon steel, low alloy steel with chromium and steel with lead additions.
-Stainless steel Square steel tube
In Tisco we have stainless steel square tube/pipe, cold rolled in low carbon steel. We have available in different grades from 3/6″ to 5″ thick, ideal for machinery and construction applications.
– Hexagonal Steel Bars
Available from 1/4″ to 3″ thick in low carbon steel and steel with lead additions ideal for machinery components.
